I have worked within the water jetting industry for over 40 Years and been a contractor with Leigh Interests, Veolia and Campus Veolia and during this time was a WJA Council member. In 2016 I became a WJA Training Provider and Instructor and have been the WJA Safety & Training Committee Chairman and WJA President of the Association. I am really looking forward to working alongside John as the Membership Board member.

I have been involved with high pressure water jetting since 2007, when I began working for an environmental services company, starting as a junior jetvac operator working on large contracts for several water companies. I am an approved Training Provider/Instructor and have delivered courses to delegates from a wide range of industries and backgrounds. I began taking part in the WJA Safety & Training committee in 2018, and I like to think my input has been useful since. I have a lot of ideas, energy and enthusiasm to contribute to the Association as it continues to evolve.

I am the Managing Director and trainer at WaterJet Training delivering courses on behalf of the WJA and the Managing Director of D&L Contract Services Ltd with a passion for managing and running my own Drainage company. Having been within the water jetting industry since 2006, I became a member of the WJA Training Committee in 2021 to be able to shape the safety of our industry. Being involved with leaders in our sector gives us the ability to discuss new and innovative ideas with each other, increase my own knowledge and make the drainage and water sector safer.

With a passion for all things involving High Pressure water jetting and automation, I naturally enjoy sales & marketing, business development and have developed sound technical, commercial solutions , products and equipment throughout my time in the industry.

I am currently a Director for Mpirriecal carrying out the various duties. These mainly include the delivery, assessment & IQA of various High Pressure Water Jetting WJA approved Courses, Construction/ Construction Safety/ C & G Confined Spaces (Plus bespoke rescue / Airline breathing apparatus courses for Marshalls Aerospace in Cambridge/RAF Brize Norton). I am an approved WJA instructor and deliver all WJA courses. I have sufficient experience that I am now trusted by several awarding bodies to carry out Internal Quality Assurance sampling in both portfolio and observational assessments and have been for several years. I have an excellent understanding of training & assessment processes & procedures as well as exactly what is required to achieve & maintain those required standards and importantly to push these forward for the next generation, building on what the last generation have achieved.

Responsible for delivery of Confined Space Training based at Linlithgow. Member of the Water Jetting Associations Technical Training Committee assisting in setting the H & S Standards for Water Jetting both nationally and internationally. Working towards TAQA Level 5 IQA Auditor. Elected member of ARCO Voice for Safety Services. I am an Accomplished and Accredited Learning & Development professional with over 35 years experience in the Water & Wastewater Sector Health & Safety with a proven track record in Project Delivery and Training to a Senior Management level.

I have worked for Flowplant Group Ltd since 2012 to present. I was employed as a Project Engineer to run designs and assist with product development. I was promoted to run the Engineering and Quality Department and then Engineering Director. In 2023 I was promoted to Managing Director to run the UK business. I work closely with the accounts team and oversee all elements of the business from accounts to the technical department. I have really enjoyed my time being part of the Technical Committee and the council, seeing changes to the way the Association is structured, safety aspect improvements and code updates. I feel I add relevant information when required in these meetings and give a good insight from a UK manufacturer of water jetting equipment.

I joined RGL 10 years ago and have been a Co-owner for the last 2 years. I have extensive knowledge of onsite HP and UHP water jetting methods and equipment. I was previously a Civil Engineer for a Tier 1 Principal Contractor for 10 years and have a vast experience of Civil Engineering projects and requirements including Health and Safety. I think it is very important that the WJA board be made up of a diverse range of candidates that are working within the industry that want to challenge and drive continuous improvement. I have been involved with the Technical Committee for the past 5 years and want to continue making a positive contribution towards the WJA efforts within the industry.

I am actively involved in designing, building, maintaining and fault finding HPWJ equipment and plant. Quoting, attending pre contractual and site meetings, responsible for continued expansion of workforce to 25, monitoring operatives’ performance, organisingprogramme of works. Managing Health and Safety. I joined the WJA in 2005 add joined the Technical Committee the same year and the WJA Council in 2006. I am actively involved in the meetings and managed several projects, including research into Reaction Force and Hose Protection. I have overseen two rewrites of the Blue Code of Practice and a rewrite of the Red Code and had crucial involvement in the establishment of the Purple Code. I have assisted the President in major changes to the WJA.
Darren Hamilton

I am the Group Operation Training Manager-responsible for operational staff development, constructing & delivering in house City & Guilds in Drainage Engineering & CIPP, GDU, CCTV, Service Location and one to one continuous individual development. Having been in the industry for over 40 years, I have gained extensive knowledge in the water jetting industry both in a technical and training capacity. I am very passionate about improving training delivery standards and most importantly the safety culture within the industry, to help to raise the profile of this sector. I am keen to help develop and implement changes within the water jetting sector. I have assisted in rewrites of the codes of practice, training workbook, training courses and many more.
