Drive to improve hydrodemolition

Aquajet Systems was born from experience. It was founded in 1988, in the small town of Holsbybrunn, Sweden, by a hydrodemolition contracting company.

It needed better equipment to carry out the high quality hydrodemolition it wanted to deliver for its customers. So it set out to design and build it.

Since Aquajet was established, it has set itself a challenging single goal – to manufacture the best hydrodemolition equipment on the market. That bold approach is championed in the UK by Brokk UK, which supplies Aquajet equipment.

Brokk UK Managing Director Nathan Sayers says: “Aquajet achieves its goal every day through dedication to in-house design and continuous development.

“These factors make Aquajet products and solutions more efficient, productive, robust and environmentally friendly. The company is proud of what it does, and of its ‘Made in Sweden’ badge.”

“We’re looking forward to showcasing the value we bring to the water jetting industry at WJA Tradeshow 2024. It’s going to be a great event.”

The Aquajet range has evolved into tough, high quality products, designed to operate reliably on job sites over a long period of time, explains Nathan Sayers.

“Simplicity is a watchword at the company HQ, which is still in Holsbybrunn. The motto is to maintain in-house design and manufacturing capabilities,” he says.

“Aquajet expands geographically, improving the technology, while providing premium quality to all our customers. Aquajet products will always be delivered on time. Above all, they will make your working day easier, safer and more efficient.”

High quality equipment and support

Aquajet hydrodemolition robots use a high-pressure water jet to blast away concrete, paint, coatings, rust and other materials. The precision of Aquajet Aqua Cutters preserves the integrity of sub-surfaces and leaves them in prime condition for new material to be applied.

Nathan Sayers explained: “Aquajet offers a full line of accessories. It also supplies state-of-the-art high-pressure pump systems and a water treatment system that assists contractors in meeting strict environmental regulations and saving money.

“Aquajet robots and accessories are used in a variety of applications, including bridge, road, dam and tunnel repair, and industrial cleaning.

“We assemble all our products in-house in Sweden. Furthermore, all performance and pre-delivery tests are carried out in our facilities in Holsbybrunn. Our engineers take pride in their work and define Aquajet Systems as the industry leader.

“Our flexible and upgradeable Aqua Cutter robots have been developed to suit all kinds of applications, whether diesel-propelled or electrically-driven. Our goal and policy is to offer high quality, unparalleled flexibility and outstanding service in everything we do.

“Our staff and partners are always aware of this commitment to provide the same values to our customers. In practice it means project support, high quality spare parts and after sales service whenever or wherever you need it.”

Aquajet and Brokk

In 2016, the Swedish investment company Lifco Group acquired Aquajet Systems and partnered the business with its company, Brokk AB. With Brokk AB already specialising in demolition robots, it has been an successful partnership.

Many Brokk-owned subsidiaries have become representatives for Aquajet in their respective countries. This gives Aquajet a bigger platform on the global market, with Aquajet sales, training, service and spares looked after by the local company.

In the UK and Ireland, the team at Brokk UK are the go to people for everything Aquajet, with the head office in Cumbria and a service depot in Essex, and now a new operation just opened in Ireland.

There are now five sales people and five engineers supporting Aquajet products across the UK and Ireland, offering premium product support and local backup.

Brokk UK personnel are trained in Sweden at the Aquajet Academy. It has developed a range of short courses, most over one or two days, for customers and suppliers alike. The topics are:

· Product familiarisation

· Hydrodemolition

· Operational efficiency

· Safety and technique

· Service and maintenance

· Train the trainer

Aquajet – the products

ERGO GO

A climbing robot that moves across vertical or horizontal services via rollers on scaffold tubes – or with its own spine system. ERGO GO has a stand-alone control unit for both operating systems. It is a very versatile and portable robotic system that can be run off smaller pumps.

Tracked robots

The smaller 410 range and larger 710 range of Aquajet tracked robots are now joined by the latest edition to the family, the Aquajet 750.

Tracked robots are specifically designed to optimise productivity and safety. The distance between the nozzle and workpiece is controlled automatically ensure no loss of demolition power.

The exceptional reach of Aquajet tracked robots means they can work on floors, walls and ceilings, with attachments for more challenging areas.

The 750 has a new patented Infinity lance system that operates in a continuous figure eight, which increases productivity and reduces pipe holes, providing an ideal bonding surface.

Pumps

Aquajet has a range of pumps to complement the robots, ranging from the new towable Revojet pump to the larger container-based Ecosilence 700. The Ecosilence pump also has a built-in garage to store the associated Aquajet tracked robot.

Ecoclear

The Aquajet Ecoclear waste water solution cleans the site water and allows it to be reused, or returned safely to the water system.
