WJA 2023 AGM and Funday – Celtic Manor Resort
The Water Jetting Association will be holding its annual general meeting, gala dinner and a funday at the Celtic Manor Resort.
It will be the first time the WJA has hosted a two-day gathering to hold the AGM since 2019, due to the disruption caused by the COVID pandemic.
The funday, gala dinner and AGM will take place on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd June 2023 at the world-famous golf resort near Newport, South Wales.
Enjoyable occasion
WJA General Manager Leanne Smith said: “We’re looking forward to inviting members to meet together at the AGM where there will also be an opportunity to hold discussions and training sessions.
“We are also hosting a funday on the Thursday where those attending will be able to play golf or try rifle shooting, laser tag, or Honda carts competitions.
“As in previous years, we’re expecting members to bring their partners to the two-day event, to relax together and enjoy the occasion, as well as complete the important business of attending the AGM.”
Member spotlights
There will be speakers on Friday and members are also invited to book one of a limited number of Member Spotlights, where they can give a 15-minute presentation of a new product of service.
Those not attending the AGM and related events on Friday 23rd June are invited to attend the resort’s spa, where they can enjoy one of four pre-booked free spa treatments.
The two-day gathering finishes with a gala annual dinner where entertainment will be provided by Kevin Orkian, an award-winning West End singer, classical pianist, and comedian.
Kevin wowed the judges as he reached the live semi-final of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and has performed for King Charles, Prince Philip, Prince Edward and Princess Michael of Kent.
Significant developments
WJA President John Jones said: “The last 12 months have been a period of significant change. Our hugely respected, and long-serving director, David Kennedy passed away on October 1st 2022.
“Leanne and her office team have done a fantastic job to help the WJA overcome this major emotional and organisational shock, as we’ve moved ahead with significant developments.
“The AGM, the first full event of its kind since 2019, will be a very good opportunity for members to meet together, see what’s been achieved in the last 12 months, and discuss our exciting future plans.
“Of course, also, it will be a chance to socialise and enjoy the occasion. I hope as many members as possible can be with us at Celtic Manor Resort.”
