WJA simplifies membership structure to deliver maximum value

December 3, 2025  -  Water Jetting Association

The Water Jetting Association has launched a streamlined membership structure so more businesses and organisations can take advantage of being members.

The move is designed to support an exciting membership growth plan for 2026 and focus attention on the many advantages of being part of the UK’s representative body for the water jetting industry.

Delivering exceptional value

WJA Chairman Lee O’Callaghan said: “We’ve worked hard over the last two years to digitise our systems and processes to make it easier for members to engage with the WJA and gain maximum advantage from their membership. Simplifying the membership structure is the natural next step.

“It will be easier for companies to join the WJA and it will allow us to focus resources on delivering exceptional value for our members, with additional services and support we know will be very helpful to them.”

The new membership structure, which is being introduced in January 2026, has been agreed by the WJA board following discussions with the wider member community.

Eight previous membership categories have been replaced by two: one for all companies and organisations that deliver services within the water jetting industry, and the other, blue chip membership, for companies that commission water jetting services.

WJA Director Leanne Smith said: “The new structure also reflects the fluid way water jetting services are delivered across our industry, with businesses able to work across different sectors.

“We will, of course, gather information about what our members do, so we can deliver the specific support that they need and value, and effectively represent their particular interests.”

Advantages of WJA membership

Under the new structure, full WJA membership will cost £400 a year, while blue chip membership remains free of charge.

Current and new WJA members that deliver water jetting services can also opt to become WJA audited members, by undergoing a site audit carried out by a WJA-approved assessor. This site audit will be repeated every three years. Audited membership will cost £900 a year.

By becoming WJA audited members, water jetting contractors can give customers additional assurance that they meet WJA safety and quality standards defined by the association’s codes of practice.

WJA member organisations will be able to display new member logos on their websites and documentation, They will also have free access to all WJA codes of practice and other technical updates, via the WJA App.

All members also have free access to Croner, which provides expert legal, HR, and business regulation advice, as well as support from the WJA’s technical manager and medical advisor.

Over the coming months, the WJA will also be working with members and other businesses to negotiate a range of attractive exclusive service discounts on for its members.

New WJA membership resources

Leanne Smith added: “Given the many benefits of being a WJA member, our new structure represents outstanding value for money compared with the membership fees for other trade bodies.

“The efficiencies created by our digitisation drive and process simplification all contribute to our ability to deliver this value while also focussing on developing exciting new member resources in 2026.”

This includes the planned launch, in spring of 2026, of new courses that will significantly augment an already popular City & Guilds accredited coaching and examination programme.

The association will also continue to develop its WJA App, which gives members access on the move to a range of resources, including the coaching and examination programme and WJA codes of practice, which will also undergo significant development in 2026.
