About WJA

The Water Jetting Association (WJA) was formed to improve safety standards within the water jetting industry in 1980. Since then we have grown into the largest water jetting training association in the UK and our standards are used globally. 

 

The WJA is looking for a Technical Manager to be part of its ongoing development and assist in its future by working with an existing team of professionals.


Remuneration is by negotiation and subject to experience and calibre of the candidate, a company car/ allowance and suitable expenses will be included in the package.

Job Descriptions

Reporting to the General Manager, the work would be as follows:

• Auditing of new and existing trainers
• Providing technical advice for the General Manager (Technical questions from the vcmembership or the market)
• Evaluating Membership auditing
• Keeping notes on issues with WJA codes of practice and amending WJA codes of practice
• Reviewing and amending training courses
• Developing new training courses
• Reviewing and amending course outlines
• Representing WJA at meetings
• Dealing with initial questions from members on technical issues
• Assisting WJA General Manager in writing and amending WJA procedures
• Reviewing quality of training courses
• Communication with trainees after the course
• Preparation of health and safety bulletins
• Review of Website and marketing technical content
• Attendance at exhibitions and direct marketing
• Administration and minute taking
• Meeting C&G annual assessment
• Representing WJA at meetings (EWJI, GICC, Water associations and companies etc.)

Personal Specification

• Ex Trainer (WJA) all modules are desirable
• Knowledge of contracting within the water jetting industry
• More than 5 years experience in water jetting
• Management calibre, previous management skills desirable
• Good communication and presenter
• Fabulous IT skills
• Ability to travel throughout UK
• Leadership qualities, doing the right thing
• Auditing and teaching experience
• Has assessing qualification TAQA level 3 or equivalent
• Has Training qualification – Certificate in Education level 3 or equivalent
• Has Health and safety qualification – IOSH managing safely or equivalent
