Companies are joining the Water Jetting Association in increasing numbers, citing the reputational advantage of being aligned with best practice standards, the value of the WJA’s technical expertise, and opportunities to meet and work with other members.
Businesses delivering specialist services across a wide range of industrial sectors are joining the UK’s representative body for the water jetting industry.
They include drainage contractors, industrial cleaning specialists, CCTV equipment suppliers, plus specialist vehicle and personal protective equipment manufacturers.
Adding value to WJA membership
WJA Director Leanne Smith said: “We’re delighted to welcome these new members to the WJA. It can only help us be more able to represent the interests of the water jetting industry and our members.
“I’m pleased to see many of the new members recognise the increasing amount of work we’re doing to add value to WJA membership, such as the introduction of WJA Socials, which are events to allow members to network together across the UK.
“We’re also continuously investing in technical resources, such as the WJA App, the new single WJA Code of Practice and an expanding City & Guilds-accredited training programme, all of which directly support our members’ operations.”
Bucher Municipal – strengthening relationships
New WJA member Bucher Municipal manufactures asset cleaning jet vac tankers for the drainage, water utilities and waste management industries.
Its UK Sales Manager, Marc Rapson, said: “Joining was a natural step for Bucher Municipal as we continue to strengthen our relationships within the drainage and water utilities sectors, and support the wider water jetting community.
“We see WJA membership as an opportunity to collaborate with industry peers, share knowledge and contribute to the continued development of standards and best practice.”
Rausch UK – opportunity to raise standards
Rausch UK supplies inspection systems that support water jetting work, including push rod cameras, crawler systems and fully-equipped inspection vans.
Company Managing Director Thomas Baxter said: “The WJA is a well-established organisation that brings structure and standards to the industries we serve. It connects contractors, suppliers and best practice, which is important in helping raise standards across the sector.
“We’re looking forward to being able to develop stronger connections with contractors. This will help us better understand industry challenges and continue to develop the best solutions.

Velrain – impressed with WJA’s member support
Velrain is a drainage contractor based in Tamworth, Staffordshire, that delivers services for owners of domestic and commercial properties.
The company’s Managing Director, Kirk Prosser, said becoming a member of the WJA will help to demonstrate to customers that Velrain sets the highest safety and technical standards.
He added: “Our teams have the WJA’s accredited training so they’re operationally certified in drainage jetting. Being a member as well means we have full access to the WJA’s technical support.
“We promote our WJA membership on our website, in our company documents and on our vans, so customers and the public can clearly see the high standards we set for our customers.
“We’re impressed with the support the WJA gives us as a new member, with a very good joining pack, which includes a hard copy of the code of practice, marketing materials and a lot of useful information.
“We’re also looking forward to participating in WJA Socials to meet other members face-to-face. The whole process of being part of the WJA has been helpful already and I think it’s going to be good for our business.”
Tanker Rent UK – helping us understand customers
New WJA member Tanker Rent UK hires specialist tanker equipment to businesses across the water jetting, drainage and waste sectors, helping them manage fluctuating service demand and contract mobilisations.
Company Director Lennon Compton said: “Joining the WJA gives us more opportunities to listen to contractors and operators, understand how their needs are changing, and make better decisions about the specialist equipment we add to our hire fleet.
“Supporting the WJA’s work on safety, training and professional standards has also been an important part of the decision to join.”
Total Specialist Maintenance – commitment to safety
Total Specialist Maintenance (TSM) is a specialist infrastructure contractor delivering structural repair, waterproofing, ground stabilisation, industrial cleaning and hydrodemolition projects across the UK.
The company supports critical infrastructure across the water, rail, highways, industrial and energy sectors, delivering projects safely through directly employed, highly trained teams.

Rioned – contributing to industry conversations
Rioned designs, manufactures, supplies and supports professional drain and sewer cleaning equipment and vehicles for contractors, utilities, local authorities and service businesses across the UK and Ireland.
Its UK Sales Representative, Billy Rowan, said: “As a manufacturer and supplier of professional jetting and jet vac equipment, we have a responsibility to support best practice.
“WJA membership gives us the opportunity to contribute to the wider industry conversation and to support an organisation that plays an important role in promoting safety and competence.”
AIIR Environmental – advantage of technical expertise
AIIR Environmental is a waste management and specialist industrial cleaning company based in Central Scotland.
Services AIIR delivers to clients in the defence, utilities, manufacturing and food and beverage sectors include confined space tank cleaning, bulk liquid movement and packaged waste uplifts.
AIIR Operations Manager Kevin Ledwidge said: “We’re very pleased to have joined the WJA. We see it as being very advantageous to us as a business in terms of reputational gain and practical assistance.
“The regular WJA’s technical updates, including safely alerts, will be useful, and the WJA Code of Practice is very valuable for preparing risk assessments and method statements.
