WJA prepares to welcome visitors to its stand at the National Drainage Show
The Water Jetting Association will be hosting a stand at the National Drainage Show to promote the value it delivers to the drainage and water utility industries, not least through its training programme.
The WJA, the member organisation for the water jetting industry, will be on Stand C36 at the exhibition being held at ExCel London on the 27th and 28th of November.
WJA Director Leanne Smith said: “Many of our members operate in the drainage and wastewater industries. Some are also exhibiting at the National Drainage Show, so we’re pleased to be involved as well.
“It’s important that we promote the advantages of WJA membership and of our City & Guilds accredited water jetting training programme.
“We will also be able to explain the work we do with other industry stakeholders, not least the Health and Safety Executive, to support safe and productive drainage operations across the UK.
“Attending the National Drainage Show will allow us to meet members and other companies and organisations who will undoubtedly be visiting the event, and we would urge anyone with an interest in water jetting to visit us at Stand C36.”
The National Drainage Show, which is co-located with FloodEx UK, the Waterways Management Show, and now, also, the new National Civils Show, is taking place just weeks after the WJA hosted its own trade show.
WJA Trade Show 2024, at StoneX Stadium on 12th September 2024, was the first large trade show dedicated to water jetting to be held in the UK and proved to be a big success.
It highlighted the value of meeting representatives of like-minded organisations face-to-face, both in terms of doing business and discussing issues of interest, an approach the WJA team will take to the National Drainage Show.
Visitors to the WJA stand will be able to get information about all training courses, presented in a new WJA training brochure. They include two City & Guilds practical modules designed specifically for the drainage industry – Drain and Sewer, and Drain, Sewer and Surface Preparation.
The WJA team will also be showing visitors its code of practice for the safe use of water jetting equipment in drains and sewers – the Red Code.
In 2023, the code was updated to include guidance on surface preparation using jetting guns at pressures up to 275 bar (3,000 psi) that an operative can comfortably hold.
