The Water Jetting Association has launched preparations for its first trade show – with strong interest already being shown in the event.

The WJA – the UK member body for the water jetting industry – is holding the show on Thursday 12th September, 2024, at the StoneX Stadium, home of the Saracens Rugby Club, in North West London.

WJA General Manager Leanne Smith said: “Having our own trade show is an exciting initiative for us, and we’re very pleased to see that it’s already struck a chord with our members and stakeholders.

“We’ve already had a lot of bookings for stands at the event, which include spaces for both indoor and outdoor displays, and we’ve secured trade show sponsors.

“There are still opportunities to book stands and be sponsors for an event designed to define all that’s best in the water jetting industry. So we very much welcome further expressions of interest.”

The trade show is part of a wider WJA strategy to engage with industry stakeholders, provide opportunities to showcase member services, and promote water jetting safety and technical excellence.

It will be held in the StoneX Stadium’s Olympic Stand on the day after the WJA Annual General Meeting which is being held at the same venue.

WJA members include water jetting contractors, manufacturers, training providers, equipment hire specialists and water jetting service users. Though based in the UK, it welcomes members from around the world.

The association is also the UK’s largest provider of water jetting training, with courses accredited by City & Guilds, including a Safety Awareness class-based course and a five practical modules.

It also has a Level 2 Water Jetting Technician course, accredited by ABBE, which is the first qualification to establish competence in water jetting.

Lee O’Callaghan, a member of the WJA’s Training and Safety Committee, and director of a WJA registered training provider, is helping organise the trade show.

He said: “An increasing range of applications for water jetting are being developed and used in industrial sectors like petrochemicals, oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, cleaning and drainage.

“Technology is also forging ahead at pace, with new semi-automatic robotic jetting systems coming on to the market. This is why we believe the time is right to host a WJA trade show.

“We want to bring together contractors, service buyers, training providers and industrial bodies to see what’s new in our industry, share ideas and be inspired by what water jetting can do.

“We also want to press home the WJA’s key messages about health and safety and the importance of setting high standards which – in the UK and in an increasing number of countries around the world – are defined by the WJA’s codes of practice.”

As well as providing indoor trade stands, there are four external display stands available for companies and organisations that want to show off larger pieces of equipment.
